Chamber plates are the traditional choice for filter presses. In between plates, filtration chambers are formed where liquids are separated from solids. This configuration is simple, and suitable for standard filtration applications, and allow for cake discharge with moderate pressure. However, they do not allow as much cake dewatering as membrane plates

Membrane Plates

• Membrane plates feature a flexible membrane that, is inflated by gas or liquid injection once the filtration stage is over, then it compresses the filter cake to reduce its moisture content. These plates are designed to withstand higher pressures (up to 40 bars) which allows for more dewatering, making them ideal for applications requiring a low cake moisture content.
